Congresswoman Napolitano Gets Primary Opponent

State Senator Ron Calderon announced his campaign for Congress today. Calderon will run in California’s newly created 38th Congressional District, which includes the cities of Artesia, Bellflower, Cerritos, Hawaiian Gardens, La Mirada, Lakewood, Montebello, Norwalk, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, South El Monte, Whittier, and portions of unincorporated Los Angeles County.

Senator Calderon has represented around 70% of the new district in the California State Senate for the past four and a half years. He has more overlap in the newly created district than any other State Legislator or Member of Congress. Senator Calderon will file paperwork with the Federal Election Commission to formally launch his campaign later this week.

Congresswoman Napolitano, a client of Silverberg Associates, plans to run a vigorous campaign to continue representing the people she always has in addition to the residents who have now been re-districted into the 38th.
